These electors must be residents of Irma on the date they signed the form and must be eligible to vote in the election.<\/p>\n<p>Candidates must also complete Form 5 \u2013 Candidate Information and submit to the Returning Officer.<\/p>\n<p>Nomination packages can be picked up at the Village Office or downloaded <a href=\"https:\/\/irma.ca\/wpsite\/wp-content\/uploads\/site-uploads\/site-media\/site-docs\/2025-election-package.pdf\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The Returning Officer shall not accept the following for filing:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A nomination that is not completed in the prescribed form;<\/li>\n<li>A nomination that is not signed by at least five (5) electors;<\/li>\n<li>A nomination that is not sworn or affirmed by the person nominated.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>\u00a0<\/h3>\n<h3>Additional Important Information<\/h3>\n<h4>Acclamation\u200b<\/h4>\n<p>If a candidate is elected by acclamation, the Returning Officer declares the person to be elected following the close of nominations on September 22, 2025.\u200b<\/p>\n<h4>Public Access to Nomination Documents\u200b<\/h4>\n<p>Members of the public may view nomination documents in-person and under supervision at the Village office.\u00a0\u200b<\/p>\n<p>Mailing addresses of candidates and their official agent will be blacked out from documents before they are made available to the public.\u200b<\/p>\n<h4>Time Commitment for Councillors\u200b<\/h4>\n<p>\u200bDo I need to quit my current job if elected as a councillor for the Village of Irma?<\/p>\n<p>\u200bThe term of office for a councillor is four years. While not deemed a full-time or even part-time position, Councillors are expected to attend monthly councillor meetings, board meetings, and possible special local events, all of which can take place either during the day or in the evenings.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Municipal Affairs have released a set of video to help prospective candidates understand the role and commitment. The YouTube videos can be seen\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/playlist?list=PLgou_qQG9_mMOmp-3qmwE0HzsvhBbzjcU\">HERE.<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<h4>Withdrawal of Nomination<\/h4>\n<p>\u200bThe last day to formally withdraw is noon on Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2025.<br \/>\nAfter this date, your name will appear on the ballot. From there, you are responsible for informing voters of your withdrawal.<\/p>\n<p>To withdraw your nomination, you must submit a written statement to the Returning Officer. Withdrawals will not be accepted if you have been declared elected by acclamation.<\/p>\n<p>\nWithdrawal notices are final.
