Maybe you are already practicing in a rural community and want to learn more about what supports and resources your regulatory body and the Association has to offer!

This is your opportunity to learn more from the Alberta Nursing Colleges – The College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA), the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA), and the Alberta Association of Nurses (AAN)!

The Rural Health Professions Action Plan (RhPAP) is pleased to present our final part of our Rural Nursing Series – How Do I Get There? – Nursing – Transition from Post-Secondary to Practice.

To fully practice as a nurse in Alberta, students must first pass a licensing exam. Upon passing the exam, if they intend to practice as a regulated healthcare professional, they are required to register with their regulatory body and hold an active practice permit. Once registered, There are conditions to be met, such as continuing education activities and working enough hours to maintain an active practice permit. Nurses engage in life-long learning, so they can continue to offer the best services to their patients – learn from the AAN how they support and what they offer their members!

Join us in welcoming representatives from the CLPNA, CRNA, and the AAN, and hear more about how they support transition from post-secondary to practice. Take this opportunity to ask questions and engage in conversation with those who will support your professional practice.
